The first day on the job, Jen volunteered to try a case with me. Four days later, she was standing before the jury delivering the opening statement. Although it was her first trial, she looked and sounded as if she had been doing it for years. Bud Watson listened to her from the audience. He passed her a note after she finished that said it all: “absolutely superb.” She still has the note in her office along with the jury’s verdict in our favor.

Since that first trial, Jen has developed into an accomplished trial attorney. In fact, she is one of only a few female plaintiff’s attorneys in North Alabama. As a law clerk, Jen had a great seat to watch some of the best trial lawyers in Alabama. Now law clerks have the privilege of watching her in trial. Her preparation and her enthusiasm for her clients is simply unmatched.

Jen has not only developed the skills to try cases, she also is an accomplished legal researcher and writer.  I frequently call upon her to assist me with legal briefs.  I know that no matter how difficult the legal issue, Jen will thoroughly research the law and convince the Judge that the other side is wrong.  Jen is a member of the Alabama State Bar and is licensed to practice before the U.S. District Court, Northern District of Alabama.  Jen has argued numerous cases to the Alabama Court of Civil Appeals and the Alabama Supreme Court.
 
Jen advanced to named partner at the firm in record time.  Her success at our firm is no surprise.  She graduated with high honors from undergraduate school.  She then earned a full scholarship to pursue a Master's Degree in Public Administration.  I'm not sure how she did it, but she earned her Master's Degree and law degree from the University of Alabama at the same time.  While in law school, she served as Editor-in-Chief of the Alabama Law & Psychology Review.

Needless to say, Jen has a lot of energy. Her energy and her desire to excel at everything she does is an asset to our firm and clients.

I have tried many cases with Jen since her first one. She is a natural. We are fortunate to have her at our firm and I am proud to call her my friend and partner.
